Max Sweets was founded by serial food entrepreneur Shari Leidich. Shari was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2004, causing her to embark on a health and healing journey. After learning about the importance of food in balancing her body, Shari launched Two Moms in the Raw, an organic sprouted snack company. During this time, she started eliminating carbs and sugar from her diet and grew interested in the keto movement, ultimately founding keto-friendly coffee creamer and instant beverage brand Know Brainer. Working in the keto space, Shari heard many product ideas being bounced around. One of them was collagen marshmallows, which instantly piqued Shari’s interest. She decided to pursue this idea further.

Alongside her partners Miche Bacher (chef extraordinaire) and Lisa Simpson (Creative Director), Shari started developing the first keto-friendly marshmallows on the market. After countless iterations and failed attempts, she launched Max Sweets, a line of zero-sugar marshmallows containing collagen, MCT, and prebiotic fiber. Today, the women-owned and women-run team behind Max Sweets continues on their mission to fuel the body and mind through better-for-you sweet treats.
