Romer was founded by Lauren Rome, a former financial advisor on Wall Street. While spending a decade working long hours and traveling often, Lauren had constantly struggled with skin outbreaks, dark circles, and dry skin. She had tried over 100 different skincare products and countless complicated routines, but nothing was working and her skin was reaching a breaking point. At the same time, Lauren’s husband was also suffering from similar skin issues, causing Lauren to realize that she wasn’t the only one experiencing these problems. Wondering why there wasn’t a simple skincare regimen that actually worked, Lauren began to speak with dermatologists and dig deeper into the skincare industry. She discovered a white space in the market and, as a lifelong problem-solver, grew determined to tackle it.
Over the span of almost one year and a half, Lauren worked with a team of research and development experts to formulate Romer’s line of effective and gender-neutral skincare products. She focused on creating an easy-to-follow, 3-step routine that she could share with her husband. Lauren then spent some time testing her products and conducting a mixed-gender study, finding that 90% of participants reported improved skin conditions after 4 weeks of Romer’s 3-step regimen. Following the spectacular results and just weeks before the onset of the COVID pandemic in March 2020, Romer was launched to the world. Now with features in major outlets like Allure and Popsugar under its belt, Romer is continuing to enhance the everyday lives of busy women and men alike, saving us time and helping us feel confident in our own skin.
