Behind the Brand
Suckerz was created by co-founders Kasey Stewart and Tiana Haraguchi. Before launching Suckerz, Kasey worked at large digital agencies and spearheaded the creative vision for global brands like Samsung, Adidas, and Netflix. However, while helping other brands with their launch strategies, Kasey developed the desire to launch a product of his own. One day, while walking through the aisles of Whole Foods with his girlfriend Tiana, the idea hit him. Kasey and Tiana couldn’t find great-tasting candy that wasn’t packed with sugar or sugar alcohols, and they realized that the hard candy market hadn’t seen any innovation since Jolly Ranchers, Blow Pops, and Tootsie Pops. That night, Kasey and Tiana went home, bought the domain suckerz.com for $2,800, and set out to disrupt the hard candy category.
To kick off product development, Kasey and Tiana hired a formulator on the east coast who had previously worked on Jolly Ranchers. They were intent on creating an all-natural, low-sugar, and ball-shaped lollipop that didn’t contain any sugar alcohols. The co-founders documented their journey on TikTok, amassing millions of views in the process, and launched Suckerz after a year and a half of product development. Fast forward to today, Kasey and Tiana have reinvented nostalgic candy with a healthy twist, and they’re on a mission to make you feel good.
