Consumerhaus Values

Our brands do a lot more than offer amazing products — all of them are contributing to a
better, healthier, and happier world. From brands led by world-changing female founders to brands
working to tackle climate change, we’re highlighting some of the values that our brands stand by.

Female-Founded

Many of our brands are spearheaded by some badass women — moms, sisters, daughters, and even grandmothers — who are proving that girls can run the world. In a society where only 2% of VC funding goes to female founders and only 8% of Fortune 500 CEOs are female, the odds are shockingly and unreasonably stacked against women. Despite these statistics, our female-founded brands are shattering the glass ceiling and inspiring the next generation of girls to take the reins.

Black-Founded

These brands were founded or co-founded by individual(s) who identify as black. Since 2017, under 2% of U.S. venture dollars have been invested into black-founded startups, while only 1% of Fortune 500 CEOs are black. It’s abundantly clear that there is a lack of racial representation that needs to be overturned. Our black-founded brands are paving the way to a more equitable business landscape and providing increased opportunities for underrepresented people of color.

AAPI-Founded

Founders of Asian, Asian-American, and Pacific Islander descent fall under the AAPI umbrella.
A population of 24 million people, this ethnic group can face a myriad of challenges in the business realm such as linguistic and cultural barriers, racial bias, and other negative impacts of the COVID pandemic (eg. increased anti-Asian sentiment and hate crimes). The Consumerhaus team is proud to highlight our trailblazing AAPI founders who are crushing all of the obstacles in their path.

Latinx-Founded

This group includes brands founded by entrepreneurs of Latin American heritage. Latinx-founded brands account for just 5.8% of businesses in the US, and like other minority groups, they face great challenges and racial bias. Latinx companies have significantly higher rates for bank lending (and 60% less chance of being approved for a bank loan) than white and non-Latinx owned companies, regardless of criteria such as credit, profitability, liquidity, and business age. This needs to change.

Clean Ingredients

Today’s consumers are more aware than ever of what they’re putting into and on their bodies. These brands are utilizing all-natural, better-for-you, and non-artificial ingredients in their products to meet consumer expectations. Whether it’s replacing high fructose corn syrup with natural sweeteners or excluding phthalates and parabens, these brands have taken steps to ensure that they’re incorporating safe and recognizable ingredients while eliminating highly-processed chemicals.

Sustainable Practices

Sustainability isn’t just a nice-to-have anymore; consumers are expecting and demanding planet-friendly practices from brands. Brands can engage in healing the Earth by utilizing local or sustainably-sourced ingredients and zero-waste or plastic-free packaging. They may also be contributing to the fight against climate change by offseting carbon emissions from their production and shipping. As more brands incorporate sustainable practices into their business activities, everyone wins.

Ethical Production

It takes a village to build a culture-defining brand, and everyone involved plays a crucial role in the journey. These brands are ensuring that their partners — suppliers, producers, farmers, and manufacturers — are receiving fair treatment in the form of equitable pay, safe working conditions, environmental protection, balanced livelihoods, and more. Where applicable, these brands are also adhering to cruelty-free practices in the production of their goods.

Giving Back

Brands have the power to positively influence the lives of many, and some choose to go the extra mile. These brands have established giving back as a core pillar of their business model. Whether it’s a portion of sales or a one-for-one arrangement, these brands are extending their impact by donating to non-profits, charities, and underprivileged populations. They’re each bettering the world in their own ways, and we’re proud to represent brands that prioritize such altriusm.
