Cravers was founded by self-proclaimed health freaks Arda Askin, Ersoy Kiraz, and Ozan Akkoyun. Hailing from Turkey, the co-founders consumed a lot of hazelnuts growing up and were intrigued by America’s obsession with peanut butter. Given that 70% of the world’s hazelnuts originate from their homeland of Northern Anatolia, Turkey, they began to wonder if they could introduce a peanut butter alternative and leverage their direct connection to the source. With hazelnuts typically being regarded as byproducts of chocolate production, the co-founders wanted to give hazelnuts the love and attention they deserved.

Arda, Ozan, and Ersoy decided to source their hazelnuts from local farmers in Turkey, who hand-pick each hazelnut and peel off each individual green shell. These hazelnuts have been harvested in the region for over 2,000 years and are considered the best in the world. The co-founders partnered with a female-founded manufacturing partner to transform their hazelnuts into creamy and tasty hazelnut butter. By putting hazelnuts at the forefront of their brand, the Cravers team has created the perfect spreads without compromising on taste to build the best and biggest hazelnut company in the world.
