Behind the Brand
Curist was founded by Ethan Goldstein, a former data scientist who suffered from severe allergies and asthma from a young age. Growing up, Ethan participated in countless dinner table conversations about medicine and allergies thanks to his dad, who was a celebrated allergy doctor. To combat his son’s symptoms, Ethan’s dad came up with a “customized” allergy relief kit that significantly improved Ethan’s quality of life. This revelation caused Ethan to start wondering why it wasn’t easier for people to self-treat at home.
Inspired by the positive results that he experienced, Ethan decided to replicate his dad’s informal but effective process in the digital world. He sourced over-the-counter, FDA-approved medications formulated by allergy specialists and adopted a direct-to-consumer model that allowed him to offer the products at extra-affordable prices. Ethan launched Curist in 2018 with a focus on allergies but has now expanded to tackle symptoms ranging from heartburn to colds to pain. Today, the Curist team continues on their mission to increase access to affordable medication and improve self-treatment of symptoms.
