Behind the Brand
Onekind was created by brother-and-sister duo Madison and Matthew Ruggieri, also the co-founders of luxury men’s grooming e-tailer The Motley, natural skincare brand Buckler’s, and men’s personal care brand Port Products. With over a decade of experience in skincare, Madison and Matthew were aware of the disparities in pricing between men’s products and women’s products. They were told that they couldn’t charge more than $50 for men’s skincare as men wouldn’t be willing to spend more, whereas there were many products well over $100 in the women’s skincare aisle. Having spent years in product development, both Madison and Matthew knew that effective and clean products didn’t need to cost $100. They saw an opportunity to develop a unisex skincare line as luxurious and effective as the top brands, but at a fraction of their prices.
Before jumping into product development, Madison and Matthew surveyed a few hundred people about their skincare routines. They learned which products, ingredients, and smells their customers wanted, ultimately deciding to launch Onekind with a line of fairly-priced nighttime routine products. Following rave reviews of its initial product launches, Onekind has now expanded its product line to include a range of skincare essentials, each transparently priced under $50. The team is on a mission to make clean and luxurious skincare accessible for all.
