Behind the Brand
Pricklee was founded by best friends and former healthcare workers Kun Yang and Mohammed Hassoun. Their mission is to inspire people to be resilient like the cactus, by creating delicious moments of health, happiness, and sustainability. Growing up in Lebanon, Mo had fond memories of his Grandma Zahra juicing the prickly pear cactus, known to be mother nature's recovery drink. Mo loved the taste of the juice, so he decided to recreate his grandma’s recipe for his friends, not knowing that it would spark the beginning of a new company.
Upon doing more research into the prickly pear, they realized that the fruits were also packed with restorative antioxidants, electrolytes, and vitamin C and contained half the sugar of coconut water. They knew they had stumbled across something special and decided to turn the beverage into a business together. Still working their full-time jobs, the founders spent over a year testing hundreds of recipes in their own kitchen. In July of 2019, the Pricklee team launched their cactus water into the world and are on a mission to inspire people to be resilient like the cactus.
