Behind the Brand
Sourse was created by co-founders and life partners Jenne Moore and Andrew Remlinger. It was born out of Jenne’s personal frustration with her daily supplement routine: Jenne suffered from vitamin B12 deficiency and struggled to consistently take her pills. The pills felt medicinal, were unpleasant to consume, and didn’t work for her. She started becoming interested in food-based supplements, which she learned could be more easily absorbed by the body due to the nutrients bypassing the digestive system entirely. With this knowledge, Jenne approached her partner Andrew — an investment banker in the food, beverage, and beauty space at the time — with the concept for a clean and sustainable vitamin-infused chocolate company. A few months later, the couple had quit their jobs to go all-in on Sourse.
From their shared one-bedroom apartment, Jenne and Andrew launched their chocolate-based supplement brand. They enlisted the help of a candymaker in San Francisco and went through countless iterations of product samples to achieve the perfect taste, texture, appearance, and nutrition. In the process, their small apartment was converted into a mini-warehouse. Just as Jenne and Andrew were ready to showcase their first product at a food and beverage conference in California, the COVID pandemic hit, forcing them to pivot to an online-only direct-to-consumer model. Despite the obstacles, the couple persevered and sold over 500,000 pouches in their first year. In 2021, actress Sarah Hyland joined the team as creative director and celebrity co-founder, helping launch Sourse’s Beauty Bites and Mood Bites. Sourse is on a mission to design clean, delicious functional snacks that serve people and the planet — one chocolate bite at a time.
